UCH (Unite Controle Habitacle) for Logan has the facility, uninstalled, to start the wipers temporized after the windscreen has been washed by windscreen washer pump, as on Clio Symbol.
There are two fazes:
1. When you set the pressure for about one second (anyway, under 3 seconds) on the wiper control stalk to actionate the windscreen washer pump, the wipers start automatically and wipe one time the windscreen.
2. When you set the pressure for three seconds or more on the wiper control stalk to actionate the windscreen washer, the wipers start automatically and wipe three times the windscreen.
Both ways of wiping functions start after 1 or 2 second of delay, during this time the windscreen washer pump ?watering? the windscreen to avoid scratches due to dust etc.
Theoretical principles:
1. The control pin for that is pin number A7 on UCH. If it gets 12+ volts for a second (or less and no more than 3 seconds), it commands the wipers to wipe once. If the 12+ Volts are more than 3 seconds, it commands the wipers to wipe for 3 times.
Practical implementation:
1. Put an end of a wire (uninsolated) in A7 connector (position as in ?0 scheme UCH.gif?) ? as can be seen in ?3 pozitionare pin 7.jpg?. The A7 pin is on the 40 pins connector of UCH - EH1 - the smaller one, not the big white one. A7 pin can be found in the brown part of the 40-track connector (the 40-track connector is made actually of two independent 20-track connectors, one green and one brown, as can be seen in ?2 Alcatuire mufa.jpg?).
There is no need to extract the UCH from its place, only the connector should be extracted. The brown 20-track connector can be seen in ?1 Mufa de scos.jpg?
2. The other end of the wire connected to UCH in this way is pulled up to the wiper control stalk and is connected to pin number 4 of wiper control stalk connector (the fourth from right to left, upper row, as you look from driver?s seat to the dashboard - this one pin actually gives 12+ Volts to windscreen washer pump - . In the image ?4 Mufa maneta.jpg? can be seen the way I did that.
Success!
